Evaluation- What kind of media institution might distribute my media product and why
What kind of media institution might distribute my media product and why? For the distribution of my magazine I would distribute it nationally, because the music/artists inside the magazine are known world wide, so with this in mind everyone in the world will know about them, so if i distribute it nationally I will more than likely have a better success rate as the demand for these pop stars will be off the charts. I would choose to work with a larger company like IPC media, the reasoning for this being because my magazine is hopefully going world wide, so if i had a smaller company, they are less likely to bring me success. However IPC media will take a big chunk out of my profit, but because it is sold every two weeks world wide, the profit should be more beneficial to me. It would be better than staying with a smaller company and keeping more of the profits as its not secure of selling big. My magazine will be sold in every convenience stores and big supermarkets all over the world. So there will have to be a great number of my magazines to be made. I will not be starting off small and hopefully getting more popular via word of mouth. I am just throwing everything out there and hoping that the demand for a great magazine is popular.
Evaluation- Progression from preliminary
Progression from preliminary- Like I said previously in my last post, (What I learnt about technology) I have improved drastically on my attention to detail, as before I had one idea and stuck to it. However in my final piece I looked t everything in the smallest of details to make sure everything fitted perfectly. Contrasting this to my preliminary work where I just did everything together. Because of the depth I have gone into on my final piece, it is so much clearer who my target audience is. To the flip side of the coin in my preliminary I didn't make my piece to suit my target audience, my target audience had to fit to my piece.
Final Edition of my 2 page spread.
I have changed my final edition of my 2 page spread, as before I had a grammatical incorrect apostrophe. However since I have gone to change it, the font I had before no longer existed on the system so I had to completely change my font.
Evaluation- What have I learnt about technology from the process of constructing this product
What have I learnt about technology from the process of constructing this product? Whilst I was producing my magazine I came across a great number of new technologies. One of these being industry standard equipment on the Apple Mac, with the use of photoshop. I have used photoshop for the last 3 years, as i used it during GCSE Media. However when i was using the equipment in GCSE I always asked people for help with making my product look good, as I didn't know what I was doing. However this year I haven't needed any help, and i learnt more than just stoke affect. As before all I used was stroke, and this made my product look so amateur. Now I have learnt how to use the likes of bevel, emboss and gradients to great affects, this has made my coursework look more A level standard.
Evaluation-How does your media product represent particular social groups?/ Who would be the audience of your media product?
How does your media product represent particular social groups?/ Who would be the audience of your media product?
The age range for my magazine varies from 16-24 year olds. As i believe people of these ages think the same, have similar attitudes, and same opinions. This is why I have made my magazine quite fresh and vibrant, as that is what attracts the younger audience. I chose the colour scheme metallic grey with an eye catching pink, as it attracts both genders. The use of metallic grey puts across the sense of masculinity, because it is thought to be the colour of cars like Aston Martins which are conventionally aimed at the male gender. However with the pink colour on top brings the femininity towards the magazine. This is due to the stereotypical girl loving pink as a colour. Pink being associated with 'barbie' type girls. However the metallic grey and the candy floss pink are not just aimed at one gender. As some girls are 'Tomboys' and some guys are 'pretty boys' so the colour scheme can be aimed at anyone. The colour scheme and my music magazine targets a mass audience.
The genre of music in my magazine is 'chart' music because its not just solely one dimension, it has some R&B, band, hip-hop, indie and rap. However I know that the music that is in my magazine will attract to my target audience as it is chart music, and the ordering of the charts is down to the downloads of songs, and stereotypically it is the age range 16-24 that use technology a lot more than any other age. So with this in mind I can tell that the people, music and clothing used in my magazine will attract to my target audience as they have payed to listen to there music and are attached to there ideology.

Evaluation-In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products
In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? My magazine product applies to a great number of media forms and conventions. I have used many conventional items such as barcodes, puffs, superimposition, Relevant information on contents, numbering pictures with a text, Conventional answers in the questionnaire, and a big main image. I have used all these conventions so that my target audience will be able to recognise that this is a music magazine. Also I have used these because it is easy for the audience to find and, its not too hard to swallow if its what they love and are used to. However everyone loves something new so this is why I have developed and challenge some media conventions, the use of my big bright bold lettering all the way through has brought a hint of a comic book. This is not generally found on a music magazine as the font tends to change throughout the magazine. The use of bold colourful letters makes my magazine a creative piece, the reasoning for me using the bold colourful lettering attracts a younger audience, however the seriousness of the text also attracts an older audience too.
